Seatbelts might be a safety afterthought in the bulletproof Knight XV, a rolling fortress that can deflect AK-47 rounds.
The made-in-Canada vehicle (XV stands for “extreme vehicle”) weighs six tonnes, twice as much as a Hummer or about the same as four Toyota Camrys. Its reinforced windows are 3.2 centimetres thick.
Navigating the black armoured behemoth feels more like sailing a yacht wrapped in ballistic-hardened steel than driving an SUV.
