Markham, ON - A Markham company has won a $3-million contract to provide baghouse dust collection equipment to Vale Inc.’s Sudbury operations.
Global air pollution control provider Macrotek Inc. said in a release it has been awarded three consecutive contracts.
The contracts total almost $3 million for the design, fabrication, supply, and delivery of baghouse dust collection equipment for a nickel emissions reduction project at a refinery in Sudbury.
They are part of Vale’s $1-billion Clean AER project. The Clean AER project — AER stands for atmospheric emissions reduction — is the largest single environmental investment in Sudbury’s history, and one of the largest in Ontario.
When finished, the work will result in an 85% reduction in sulphur dioxide emissions from current levels.
